We have CAUTIOUSLY re-opened for elective care, but we are continuing to take many precautions.
We are requiring masks be worn during your visit (disposable, cloth, bandana, etc.). If you do not have one, we can provide one, however we request you make a donation to offset the cost to our office. Any proceeds above our costs will be donated to a local nonprofit.
We will be taking your temperature upon arrival to the office.
If you are a new patient or have any changes to your address, phone number, health history please help us minimize points of contact by filling out your paperwork in advance.
We are continuing to offer telemedicine visits for certain conditions. Please contact us at our phone number 402-807-3937 to find out if your visit can be handled online.
Please remember to not delay any urgent eyecare needs such as:
Red, itchy, and/or excessively watery eye(s)
Pain or discomfort in or around eye(s)
New onset of flashes, floaters, black/grey veils in your vision, especially those that do not go away within about 30 minutes
New occurrence of double vision
Significant vision changes or loss of vision
Severe dry eye
Our scheduling procedures are temporarily very different.
The CDC is NO-LONGER recommending the public to delay routine and elective care, so if you feel comfortable, you are welcome to schedule an appointment.
We have temporarily disabled online scheduling at this time, this gives our staff control over the schedule so that we can ensure gaps between patients, please call us to schedule (402-807-3937).
We are reducing our exam capacity by half. This allows us to ensure a gap between each family unit.
Please refrain from bringing additional family members into the office, unless the patient is a minor or adult who may need assistance. You are welcome to video chat or send pictures for additional opinions, or you can always trust our optical team to provide honest opinions!
If you answer "yes" to any of the following questions, we ask that you refrain from scheduling your appointment for at least two weeks, or consider a virtual (telemedicine) appointment:
Have you or a member of your household travelled outside the Omaha area in the last 14 days?
Do you have any history of exposure to a COVID-19 positive person? (Exposure means 10 minutes or more of contact.)
Are you experiencing any of these symptoms: cough, congestion, sore throat, fever, or shortness of breath?
CLEANING & WAITING AREA PROTOCOL
While we always value having a clean and sanitary office environment, we have increased these procedures drastically.
If there are other patients still in the office, we might ask you to wait in your car. We will come get you or call you when we are ready to see you.
We are cleaning/sanitizing all surfaces and equipment that a patient touches in each phase of the exam.
Staff are encouraged to wash hands more frequently than normal.
We are reducing physical touch whenever possible.
For glasses, please only try on or touch glasses if you are intending to purchase. It's fun to try on glasses sometimes, even when you have no intentions of purchasing. Normally we encourage this, but please refrain from this temporarily.
For each pair of glasses touched/tried on, we will be cleaning thoroughly before placing back on display. Our opticians will be helping you know where to place the glasses, but please refrain from placing a frame back in the display area after touching to help us with this procedure.
Please do not allow children to try on glasses unsupervised.
If you have any eyecare concerns or problems related to glasses and/or contact lenses, please contact the office at 402-807-3937 (call or text), email or through the Contact Us button on the top of the webpage.
If you are planning to come in to browse eyewear, please call to schedule an appointment to do so. This helps us ensure others will not be in the optical at the same time. Think of this as a private personal eyewear style party!
We are still happy to adjust and repair your glasses, again, please call to schedule an appointment.
New Online Contact Lens Ordering
No need to come into the office to order contact lenses!
We are requiring all dispenses to make an appointment for pick up to ensure that there is no overlap with other patients.
New contact lens orders will be direct-shipped to the patient in most cases.
We will be pre-adjusting glasses frames when orders are placed, this will allow us to explore alternative dispensing methods in some cases.
RUNNING LOW ON CONTACTS?
Please check your supply of contacts, because manufacturing capacity might be affected in the future.
While we are able to order contacts right now, please be aware, that availability could be affected in the future should manufacturing capacity become disrupted.
As you can imagine, this situation is greatly reducing our revenue, and like many other small businesses, our financial situation is very precarious. Ordering contacts directly from our office now is one way that you can help us try to weather this storm, so your support in this area is greatly appreciated.
