MAY 25, 2021 UPDATE

The Omaha mask mandate lifted on May 25, 2021. Similarly, the CDC recently updated their masking guidelines, however medical offices are still being instructed to wear masks when providing patient care. Due to this, our staff will continue to wear masks regardless of vaccination status. As a medical practice, we strongly recommend our patients help protect our staff and others in the office by wearing a mask, especially when in the optical, regardless of vaccination status. If you are uncomfortable wearing a mask, please contact us so we can go over other options with you directly. A huge thank you to all of you who have extended us patience and helped us navigate this difficult year. The safety of our patients and our team is of the upmost importance.

OPEN FOR ELECTIVE CARE

• We are requiring masks be worn during your visit (disposable, cloth, bandana, etc.). If you do not have one, we can provide one, however we request you make a donation to offset the cost to our office. Any proceeds above our costs will be donated to a local nonprofit.
• We will be taking your temperature upon arrival to the office.
• If you are a new patient or have any changes to your address, phone number, health history please help us minimize points of contact by filling out your paperwork in advance.
• We are continuing to offer telemedicine visits for certain conditions. Please contact us at our phone number 402-807-3937 to find out if your visit can be handled online.
• Please remember to not delay any urgent eyecare needs such as:
  • Red, itchy, and/or excessively watery eye(s)
  • Pain or discomfort in or around eye(s)
  • Styes
  • New onset of flashes, floaters, black/grey veils in your vision, especially those that do not go away within about 30 minutes
  • New occurrence of double vision
  • Significant vision changes or loss of vision
  • Severe dry eye

SCHEDULING

We want to prioritize your health and safety.

• Any contact with others outside of the household carries some risk. We are attempting to minimize those risks to the extent that we can control.
• We have some reduction in capacity, so please bear with us if you are not able to schedule an appointment as soon as you would like. We do have some special slots available for emergencies, so contact us if you feel like your situation classifies as an emergency (402-807-3937).
• You might want to refrain from bringing additional family members into the office, unless the patient is a minor or adult who may need assistance. You are welcome to video chat or send pictures for additional opinions, or you can always trust our skilled optical team to provide honest opinions!
• If you answer "yes" to either of the following questions, we ask that you refrain from scheduling your appointment for at least two weeks, or consider a virtual (telemedicine) appointment:
  • Do you have any history of exposure to a COVID-19 positive person? (Exposure means 10 minutes or more of contact.)
  • Are you experiencing any of these symptoms: cough, congestion, sore throat, fever, or shortness of breath?
